After autoflowering flowers appeared a few years ago, they were perceived very controversially. The first generation could not boast of excellent quality and yield. But gradually, selection methods made it possible to significantly improve the result, making autoflowering cannabis varieties one of the most popular among growers. But at the same time, the initial properties of the first generation left behind several myths, which we will debunk in this article.

This myth may have been true for the first generation, but modern autoflowering plants are on par with the best feminized varieties. Maximum THC levels of over 25% were seen in the autoflowering strains Auto Skywalker Haze and Auto Cinderella Jack.
Actually this is not so. If you purchase autoflowering plants of the 2nd or 3rd generation, you can count on an average level of yield and the same efficiency. At the same time, modern complex breeding principles have made it so that modern seeds of autoflowering cannabis varieties have a yield rate of XXL. From seed to harvest, autoflowers can be bathed in intense light, which speeds up the ripening of the buds.
In fact, the light mode for autoflowering plants can be anything. They will grow under any given light cycle. Some growers grow these plants in constant light 24 hours a day. At the same time, according to geneticists, it is best to provide a light cycle for autoflowering plants in the mode of 18 by 6 or 20 by 4 hours (the first value is the number of light hours). At the same time, you can get excellent results with any number of daylight hours.
Autoflowers are easier and faster to grow, but don’t think that they don’t require any care. The potential inherent in the seeds can only be achieved if optimal conditions are created. If you grow autoflowers in poor soil, with insufficient light and in a cool environment, you may not expect good results. If you want a good result, then stock up on a sufficient number of LED lamps, aerated containers and other things. When growing cannabis outdoors, it is also worth properly preparing the place for the plant.
This is a myth. In fact, autoflowering plants can be moved from one container to another larger one. Doubts arose due to the fact that improper transplantation slows down the development of the plant for several days while it copes with stress. The life cycle of autoflowers is only 75 days, so any time spent on shock could result in a reduced yield, which should not be allowed. For beginners, it is best to grow these varieties immediately in the final containers where flowering will occur. Experienced growers can replant an autoflower no later than 1-2 weeks after it germinates. But you have to act very carefully.
Most growers have never pruned autoflowering varieties (removing the growing tip to create a bushier, shorter bush). At the same time, competently carried out pruning of autoflowering is an effective method of stress training, which has its advantages. But in this situation, you need to have a certain skill, otherwise the autoflower may not have time to recover, which will negatively affect the harvest. At the same time, many are not afraid to prune in order to get very branched bushes with a large harvest.
In tropical areas, you can grow autoflowers outdoors year-round. In this situation, constant moderate/high temperatures are provided, the light cycle is 12/12 (but keep in mind that the best yield is with a light cycle of 20 by 4). If you are in a cool-season climate, autoflowering plants cannot be grown outdoors year-round.
