A variety with a history: how the legendary auto amnesia appeared

The legendary marijuana variety Amnesia (Auto Amnesia) is a sativa-dominant hydride, which is included in the TOP 25 best marijuana varieties of all time (this title was awarded to it by the famous High Times magazine). The popularity and legend of the variety is due to the fact that it gives an excellent harvest, a rich euphoric effect, and at the same time has a very pleasant taste. The presented strain has rightfully earned the title of queen of Amsterdam coffee shops.

The history of the appearance of the Auto Amnesia variety

Auto Amnesia is a traditional, old-school strain, so it's no surprise that it has a unique history. One version is that the US breeder D. Watson (also known as Sam Skunkman) developed the variety in the early 1990s. He combined several strains of cannabis - Thai, Hawaiian, Jamaican and Afghani. But due to life circumstances (and problems with the law), Watson had to move to Amsterdam. According to legend, when he moved, he took with him those same Amnesia seeds, and after that this variety gained incredible popularity among regular visitors to Amsterdam coffee shops.

Some time later, another breeder named Zvip combined Amnesia with Neville Haze, resulting in the much-appreciated Auto Amnesia seeds, which are very popular all over the world. From the very beginning, Amnesia Haze was created only as a clone, but soon, due to the demand for this variety, Zwip made seeds available. He began working together with one well-known seedbank in Spain, as a result of which he managed to create feminized marijuana seeds of the presented variety.

The original Amnesia cannabis buds most often have a thin, long shape, characteristic of a sativa. Due to the generous distribution of pistils, the buds are light green with a rich orange tone. It is also important to note that they are densely covered with a dense layer of trichomes, indicating the high efficiency of the strain.

What effect does Auto Amnesia have?

The presented variety is characterized by sativa-dominant effects. Amnesia boasts a high concentration of THC and also provides an instant feeling of euphoria combined with rapid brain stimulation. The main effects of this strain include the ability to increase motivation, productivity, concentration, and readiness to perform various tasks. This variety is also used for medicinal purposes due to the following effects:

• elimination of headaches;
• treatment of depressive conditions;
• quick stress relief;
• elimination of pain;
• suppression of pain and nausea in cancer patients;

Amnesia Hayes flowers contain many terpenes, aromatic compounds that provide the appropriate aroma. The presented variety of marijuana is characterized by a rich fruity, floral aroma with bright notes of earth and citrus. Some also note that the aroma contains hints of incense, cedar and spice. Terpene imbues the smoke with incredible taste, which is why this cannabis is great for baking.

Features of growing auto amnesia

This variety grows as is typical for all sativas. It is best to grow Dutch marijuana seeds outdoors in a warm Mediterranean climate. Experienced breeders often use this variety indoors when they have enough space for growing, since the bush can grow up to 1.5 m in height. Its yield is 650 g per 1 sq.m. after 70 days of the flowering phase. When cultivating, the LST method is often used.
