Amsterdam Amnesia is a potent sativa-dominant hybrid developed by Dutch Passion. It is a new version of the classic Amnesia Haze, one of the most famous and influential strains native to Amsterdam. The Amnesia Haze genotype has won 24 awards between 2004 and 2019, including 1st place at the 2012 High Times Cannabis Cup, as well as 1st and 2nd places at the Spannabis Cannabis Champions Cup, IC 420 Growers Cup, Highlife Cup and Santa Cruz Cup. For decades, Amnesia Haze seeds have been the top-selling strain in the Dutch marijuana market. The strain is also well-known abroad.
It is a classic among cannabis connoisseurs due to its exceptional quality, vigorous growth, high yields, and exotic array of terpenes. Its predominant terpenes include beta-caryophyllene (21.2%), limonene (16.7%), terpinolene (14.8%), beta-pinene (9.49%), and alpha-pinene (8.9%). Amsterdam Amnesia has a sharp, sour-sweet flavour with refreshing notes of citrus, pine and spice, and a classic hayseed background.
The manufacturer assures that Amsterdam Amnesia performs equally well indoors and outdoors. When grown outdoors, the seeds should only be raised in warm, sunny regions, mainly in Mediterranean climates. The plants may elongate slightly during flowering, so breeders should provide them with as much space as possible in grow rooms. The flowers had an elongated shape and dense structure. Compared to most other sativa varieties, they remained quite compact.
The bushes had short to medium internodes. Flowers were densely packed, forming solid inflorescences along the entire length of the branches, and were covered with a thick layer of fragrant resin. Amnesia Haze's sativa genetics influenced the plants' impressive size. Depending on the phenotype, heights ranged from 1 to 1.5 m indoors, even with short vegetative growth. A wider and more open structure was achieved through LST training.
In the open ground, Amsterdam Amnesia reached a ginormous size of 3 to 4 m, with a fresh weight of about 1,500 g per plant! Breeders noted that this variety was slightly more nutrient-demanding than other strains. To maintain a healthy appearance, plants require a higher concentration of nitrogen. Using SCRoG nets indoors, amazing results were achieved, with plant weights reaching 500-600 g/m2 (without support sticks).
